This is a group project with :

Our project started with a discussion on perception examined in Brutalist architecture. We intended to explore
how we create and experience meaning through our outer surroundings. As we witness in different forms of art and crafts, there is provision for interpretation for the viewer’s thoughts. Making it unique for each individual.

Architecture, as a functional art, delves into how intuitive perception affects the overall experience and how it differs from one person to another. Architects were presented with a new set of challenges, namely limited resources, when designing in the post-war era. The architecture is rooted in the belief that architectural design should prioritize functionality, honesty, and social purpose. With change, this affects our sensibilities and how
our perception of our environments can influence design thinking as well.

One issue we faced was finding justification for the usage of brutalism, given its known carbon emissions. We conducted further research and found eco-friendly concrete alternatives that would be viable for real-world applications. Use of SCM, recycle aggregate mixtures, eco-friendly mixtures, innovative production techniques. Additionally, we discovered that instead of tearing down existing brutalist buildings, it is better to consider
building off what we already have. The concept of modularity bridges architecture and graphic design, leading
to the creation of an uppercase display typeface.  This typeface incorporates shapes from blueprints as our modules, also taking into consideration their significance as the foundation of architectural design projects.
