Side Notes

On a Thursday in October, my favourite part of the day was the rain while working from home. The pitter-patter and distinct smell of rain created an atmosphere that was calm and dull—nothing significant. Yet, I lingered in that moment before continuing my work, which quietly played in the background.

I keep a journal where I occasionally jot down the happenings of my day, recording the small and quiet observations  in the margins, nothing much more expansive beyond those little moments. The small moments from my bus window seat; how nice the weather is, how happy the passersby look, nestled into the margins of life’s large narrative. This series is expressed through each composition emphasizing a single action and illustrating a brief glimpse into the periphery of events. A side note.
